Privacy

This site is static HTML with no accounts, no forms, no newsletter and no analytics installed. The two things worth knowing about are the host's server logs and the GetYourGuide widgets, which load third-party content and can set their own cookies.

The short version

kos.boats is a set of static HTML pages. No accounts, no login, no contact form, no newsletter, no comments, no analytics installed. We do not ask for personal data and have no database to put it in. What does happen is ordinary web hosting, plus third-party content from GetYourGuide that can set its own cookies — the part worth reading properly.

Who is responsible

kos.boats is published and controlled by its independent operator. Questions about this page or about data rights go to info@kos.boats.

What this site does not do

  • No accounts. Nothing to register for, no password to store.
  • No forms. No contact form, quote form, booking form or survey anywhere — nothing runs server-side that could receive one. Email is the only channel.
  • No newsletter and no mailing list.
  • No analytics at the time of writing. No Google Analytics, tag manager, heatmap or session recorder is installed. If that changes, this page will be updated to name the tool before it goes live.
  • No advertising network and no retargeting pixels.
  • No cookies set by us. Our pages and script set no cookies and no local storage.
  • No customer data. Bookings are not taken here, so we hold no names, dates, passport details or payment information.

Hosting and server logs

The site is served by a third-party hosting provider which, like every web server, keeps technical access logs to run the service and spot attacks. A log line typically holds your IP address, the date and time, the file requested, the response status, your browser user-agent and sometimes the referring page.

Those logs are created by the host as part of delivering the site and kept for a limited period under its own retention policy. They are not used to profile you, not combined with anything else and not sold. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating and securing the website.

Third-party content: the part that matters

GetYourGuide booking widgets

Most pages embed live availability and activity widgets from GetYourGuide, loaded in an iframe from GetYourGuide's own servers when the page displays. GetYourGuide therefore receives your IP address, your browser details and the address of the kos.boats page you are on, and can set or read its own cookies and similar identifiers in your browser. That happens under its control, not ours, and we cannot see the contents. The pages also open an early connection (preconnect) to the widget host, so a request may reach that domain before any widget appears on screen.

Affiliate links

Booking links carry a partner and campaign parameter identifying kos.boats as the referrer. When you follow one, GetYourGuide records the referral — typically with a cookie — so a booking can be credited here. What comes back to us is aggregate reporting: clicks, bookings, commission. It does not identify you, and we never see your name, dates or payment details. The affiliate disclosure covers the commercial side.

To know exactly what GetYourGuide stores, for how long, and how to object, read its own privacy and cookie policies — it is the controller for that data, and the policies are linked from the footer of any GetYourGuide page. Blocking third-party cookies in your browser will stop the affiliate tracking, and may also stop a widget displaying.

Everything else is served from this site

Photographs, the stylesheet, the logo and the site's small script are all hosted on this domain. There are no external fonts, CDN libraries, share buttons, videos or map embeds, so those familiar third parties are not involved.

Cookie notice, honestly

Because the site sets no cookies of its own, there is no consent banner here — there would be nothing on our side for it to control. Any cookies you end up with come from GetYourGuide, when a widget loads or you follow a booking link. If that is not acceptable, block third-party cookies or use the operator's own website instead.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, the GDPR gives you rights over personal data held about you: access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection to processing based on legitimate interests, portability where it applies, and the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

In practice the only personal data connected with your visit is what sits in the host's server logs, plus any email you choose to send. Write to info@kos.boats — though a request about a log entry needs an IP address and an approximate time to find anything, and we cannot answer for data held by GetYourGuide. Requests about a booking go to whoever sold it; the contact page explains where.

Email you send us

If you email info@kos.boats, the message and your address sit in an ordinary mailbox for as long as they are useful — usually until the correction is made. They go on no list. Please do not send booking references, passport details or payment information; there is nothing useful we could do with them.

Children

This is a travel guide for adults. It is not directed at children and collects no data about them.

Changes to this page

If the site starts using analytics, or any tool that touches visitor data, this page will be updated to say so and the date above changed. The terms of use cover the rest, and the guide itself is where you probably wanted to be.
